INFANTA, Quezon- Nine guerilla members of the New People’s Army (NPA), who admitted they were already weary of their armed struggle, surrendered to the government forces, the military announced on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

The Second Division of the Philippine Army said that the rebels, whose names were withheld for security purposes, voluntarily submitted themselves to the 1st Infantry Battalion based in this town.

They also turned over an M16 assault rifle with two magazines and 58 bullets, an M1 Garand rifle and 10 bullets, a shotgun with three bullets, and a caliber.45 pistol loaded with eight bullets.

The said rebels were belonging to Komiteng Larangan Girilya Narsico, (KLG-Narciso)-Sub-Regional Military Area 4A (SRMA-4A) under the banner of Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee (STRPC) operating in the Northern part of Quezon, said Army Lt. Col. Danilo Escandor, commander of the 1st Infantry Battalion.
